InTASC STANDARDS
With the implementation of the new Common Core State Standards (CCSS), educators are now being held to new levels of accountability for improved student outcomes and achievements as the face of education begins a new shift that addresses the changing needs of diverse and multicultural learners . Developed by the Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (InTASC), the model core teaching standards outline what teachers should know and demonstrate proficiency to ensure every K-12 student reaches the goal of being college and career ready for today's workforce.
These Model Core Teaching Standards articulate what effective teaching and learning looks like within a transforming education system-one that empowers every learner to take ownership of their learning, that emphasizes the learning of content and application of knowledge and skill to real world problems, that values the differences each learner brings to the learning experience, and that recognizes and leverages the learning opportunities that the rapidly changing society can provide.
Student teachers are required to demonstrate proficiency in each of the ten InTASC Standards and provide artifacts and support for each standard. To view the rationales and artifacts, please select a standard from the InTASC Standards drop box located in the main menu tabs.
